I totally agree with you. Unfortunately there is not much literature about Christophe & Étienne - the only thing I can offer you is a copy of an old flyer:

- which is a 4 1/2 rank of this maker - shows an embossed production n. 24581. It was made about 1895-97 and has a very powerful sound
(too powerful for an apartment therefore it's now in a nearby church). Here's a photo:
