Hello everyone, I have a question concerning the Grand Jeu.
Should the 8 harpe eolienne 8' be included? In my instrument it is,
but I just found a place in Karg Elert's opus 70 where he asks to add this 8 to the G.
The piece ends this way, so it has nothing to do with removing the G later on to hear the 8 exclusively.
I understand that the 5 harpe eolienne 2' and 7 baryton 32' can never be included in the G, but are their other general rules?
If I draw the G all "registres ondulants" will sound, including the Vox Coelestis, wich wasn't the case on my previous instrument.
On the other hand if only the classical 4-jeux would sound in the G, not half of the reeds would sound on my instrument.
So what's the meaning of the Grand Jeu?
thank you, Nils
