Dear all,
There's an Apollo in Devizes which needs a new home. It's being
displaced by a box of silicon, evidently because they're no longer able
to keep it going - with what sounds like a cypher on the Gt, their man
is advising that it's time for retirement and the DoA is going along
with their proposals. I'd be surprised if it's a huge job to sort out,
though getting inside the Gt chest is pretty time-consuming for access.
It's number 1177 which Rob equates with 1924. Accordingly, that's a
"Mark I", with remains of treadle blowing and pre-dating the "Union
Jack" fretwork under and above the keys. It has a separate electric
blower and looks to me to be in remarkably tidy condition. Here's a
picture gallery:

return if only as contribution towards its successor. If you or anyone
you know is interested, I can put you in direct touch with the church.
