Petit Mannborg pliant 2 jeux 4 octaves

Un petit aspirant au son très rond pour voyager.

Deux jeux : Diapason 8' et Principal 4' qui ajoute un brillant très agréable.
Le toucher du clavier est aussi très sympa.

This Mannborg is from years 1954-55 serial number 62927. This type with 2 set of reeds is nice instrument and has quite soft tone compared to later models by Mannborg and Lindholm. I have fixed several this type reed organs and also have few in my collections.
Older models before 1940 has always news paper inside bellows that you can date organ very precise http://personal.inet.fi/musiikki/polokuharmooni/kuvat/mato_palje.JPG
Models with 1 set of reeds has more stronger sound at bass because 8' reeds are located directlyon sound board. In 8' + 4' model reed set of 4' is closer to sound board.
Stop mechanism also wears during years and it makes organ to sound out of tune even there is no need to re-tune it.

Below is picture of 2 Mannborg's that I just repaired back into use. Left is 2 set of reeds model serial no: 62414 case made of plywood and covered with tolex or leatherette as mentioned in some occasions. On the right is 1 set of reeds model srno: 64288 case made of mahogany.
Both had broken folding mechanism and organ on right had broken base plate that I changed because too much missing pieces.
Bellows in both needed to be repaired having new cloth and valves . Both are now re-tuned from 440 to 442Hz.
